Biography
Dr. Dejan Kojić, specialist in urology, master of medical sciences – Head of the Intensive and Semi-Intensive Care and Treatment Department, Clinic for Urology, University Clinical Hospital Center “Dr. Dragiša Mišović – Dedinje.”
Dr. Dejan Kojić is a urology specialist employed at the Clinical Hospital Center “Dr. Dragiša Mišović – Dedinje,” where he has been working at the Clinic for Urology since 1997, and has been in permanent employment since 2000. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade in 1997 (average grade 8.20; in clinical subjects 8.94), and completed his specialization in urology in 2004 with excellent results. He enrolled in postgraduate studies in urology in the 1997/1998 academic year, and in 2010 he defended his master’s thesis entitled “Prevention and Treatment of Nosocomial Infections after Transurethral Resections of the Prostate and Bladder Tumors.” Since 2011, he has been working on his doctoral dissertation in the field of postoperative infectious complications following urological surgeries.
In his work, he is particularly focused on urological oncology, with an emphasis on prostate cancer, as well as the application of modern minimally invasive approaches in the treatment of urogenital tract diseases. His specific areas of interest include general urology, urological oncology, urogenital and reconstructive surgery, as well as laparoscopic and robot-assisted surgery in urology.
He has advanced his expertise through international programs and practical workshops, including courses at the European School of Urology in Spain (laparoscopy, diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, radical prostatectomy), as well as reconstructive urogenital surgery programs organized by the “Sava Perović” Foundation. He further trained in robotic laparoscopic surgery in Germany (Gronau, St. Antonius Hospital), as well as in Italy (Milan), through education and practical training in the application of robotic surgery in urology. He has participated in numerous domestic and international urological congresses, and is the author and co-author of several professional papers.
He speaks English, Russian and German. At VIS Medical Polyclinic, he performs urological examinations and consultations, with a focus on urological oncology and modern minimally invasive surgical approaches.
